I don’t live or work anywhere near Carshalton, but I still make the journey every now and then for one reason: Millennium Fish Bar. For me and my friends, (who are locals) this place isn’t just a local chippy — it’s an institution. I’ve been coming here for around 25+ years, and after all that time, it’s still untouchable. I’m a serious foodie. I love cooking, I eat out constantly — from high-end restaurants to hidden gems around the UK and abroad. I’ve tried chicken burgers everywhere. And while a few have come close, none have managed to top Millennium’s chicken burger. It’s hands-down the best I’ve ever had. Crispy, juicy, seasoned perfectly, with just the right balance of crunch and flavour. It’s got that magic combo of nostalgia and unbeatable quality that somehow still delivers every time. This isn’t just a “great for a takeaway” type of burger — this is world-class. I genuinely believe they hold the title for the best chicken burger in the world. And that’s not something I say lightly

I stopped by the millennium fish bar on the way to Sutton with my kids. I ordered 2 sets of kids fish and chips and also two pieces of chicken for myself. The owner of the shop was very friendly and the food portions were very generous, as you can see from the pictures. This picture is for the kids fish and chips. While collecting the food the owner gave both my kids some potato wedges for free as it was a new recipe and my kids loved them. And even though I had only ordered chicken, he gave me some fries to go along with them. The food was very delicious and both my kids and myself loved it. Can't wait to be back again.

I always go for a medium cod with large chips, and it’s spot on every single time. The fish is cooked to perfection: golden, crispy batter on the outside, and soft, flaky cod inside—fresh and piping hot. The chips are just as good—thick, fluffy in the middle, and perfectly crisp without being greasy. The portions are generous too, and always leave me full and satisfied.
